Step 3: Divide for Sleeves
Next, divide the stitches for the sleeves as follows: Row 1: K35, place marker, k27, place marker, k62, place marker, k27, place marker, k35. Row 2: Purl.
Step 4: Work the Sleeves
Work each sleeve separately in Stockinette stitch, increasing one stitch at each end every 6th row, until you have 36 stitches on each sleeve. Work the sleeves for 8 inches, or until desired length.
Step 5: Join the Sleeves
To join the sleeves of your embossed floral cardigan, you will need to pick up stitches along the armhole edges of the body and the sleeves. Follow these steps:
Lay your cardigan flat with the wrong side facing up.
Place one sleeve on top of the cardigan body so that the right sides are facing each other. Line up the underarm seams and pin the sleeve to the body.
Starting at the center of the underarm, use a circular needle to pick up stitches along the armhole edge of the body. Work your way up to the shoulder, picking up stitches evenly spaced along the edge.
Repeat the process for the other sleeve.
Once all the stitches have been picked up, use your circular needle to knit across the entire row, joining the sleeves to the body.
Continue knitting the cardigan as instructed in the pattern, following the stitch pattern for the embossed floral design.
When you have finished knitting the cardigan, weave in any loose ends and block it to shape.
Congratulations! You have now completed your beautiful embossed floral cardigan. Enjoy wearing it and showing off your knitting skills!
